4 Oct 17 Update from Southern Water

Some residents will have noticed the tanker activity again in the village. This is not a due to a groundwater-related problem. On Tuesday a leak occurred from the rising main between St Mary Bourne and Longparish. Tankers were required to take away flows while the rising main was repaired.
The repair was completed on Wednesday and the main has been surveyed to establish its integrity.
The spill was contained to land near to St Mary Bourne Pumping Station and did not enter the Bourne. We are working with the Environment Agency to assess the environmental impact. Meanwhile, Southern Water wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
