4. Trees

a). Notices of Intent: None.

b).  Update from BDBC on T/00011/17/TCA — Highland House, Windmill Lane, Stoke — Fell 4 sycamores.

After the clerk passed the PC’s comments from their Planning Meeting held on 2/2/17 a reply was received from BDBC on 20/2/17:

“We acknowledge receipt of the parishes’ comments on the above application.

As the notice states “prune or fell”, we take the fell as the notified work – as it is always the most extensive proposed work which is considered.

In this instance, the sycamore trees are visually prominent, but not ideal specimens to be retained; given that they are probably self-seeded specimens which have established along the base of the fence line – and with the overhead ABC electrical cable running through their canopies.

Therefore the trees are not suitable candidates for retention with a tree preservation order.”
